Position Overview: The firm is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Tax Manager to join their expanding team. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex tax engagements, providing high-level oversight, and developing strategic tax solutions for diverse clients. You will work closely with partners on practice development, mentor and develop tax managers and staff, and contribute significantly to the growth and success of the tax department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple complex tax engagements, including the preparation and review of intricate returns (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 1041).
  • Cultivate and enhance client relationships, acting as a primary advisor and delivering sophisticated tax planning and advisory services.
  • Spearhead research on complex tax matters, collaborate with shareholders on innovative tax strategies, and provide authoritative guidance.
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor tax managers and junior staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality work.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of evolving tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide expert and forward-thinking advice.
  • Identify and implement significant tax-saving opportunities and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks for clients.
  • Assist partners with business development activities and contribute to the strategic direction of the tax practice.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Active CPA license.
  • 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
  • Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, particularly for business entities and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing tax teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, client management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Taxation or a related field.
  • Extensive experience managing tax teams and complex client engagements within a CPA firm.
  • Specialized knowledge in industries such as real estate, manufacturing, non-profits, or international tax.
  • Proficiency with advanced tax planning software, research tools, and practice management systems.
