Inventory Director

Position Overview
The Inventory Director will oversee the procurement and management of vehicle inventory to ensure optimal stock levels, streamline acquisition processes, and maximize profitability. This role requires strategic planning, market analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to align inventory with sales goals and customer demand. Dealership, independent, or wholesaler experience will be considered. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and expertise buying vehicles from private parties. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize vehicle acquisition and sales processes.
  • Manage relationships with private party sellers and automotive buyers to secure competitive inventory deals.
  • Analyze market trends and sales data to forecast inventory needs and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Lead and mentor the inventory management team to ensure best practices in inventory control and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align inventory levels with campaign promotions and customer demand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Admin, Supply Chain Management, or a related field PREFERRED
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management within the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience in vehicle acquisition and working with private party sellers.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
  • Ability to spot mechanical and cosmetic concerns with proper documentation.
