Position Overview

The Avionics Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, and integrating avionics systems into aircraft. You must have a strong understanding of avionics technology (e.g. hardware and software development processes) and have a strong understanding of aviation standards including 14 CFR Part 23. The ideal candidate will have a passion for aviation and a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test avionics systems for use in aircraft
  • Integrate avionics systems into aircraft, ensuring proper functionality and compatibility
  • Collaborate with other engineers and aviation professionals to ensure safety and efficiency of avionics systems
  • Perform system analysis and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing or integration
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in avionics technology and implement updates as needed
  • Create technical documentation for avionics systems and provide support to maintenance and repair teams
  • Conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with avionics systems for senior level; 10+ for staff engineer; 14+ for principal engineer
  • Strong understanding of avionics technology and systems
  • Experience with system integration and testing (a plus to have experience with Garmin - e.g. G1000, G3000, etc.)
  • Knowledge of FAA and international aviation regulations

Nice to have:

  • Project Management experience
  • Process development experience (Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.)
  • Experience with CREO, MatLab, VBA, or similar programs
